Yttrium oxide (Y₂O₃)

Yttrium oxide (Y₂O₃) is a white, powdery inorganic compound with the chemical formula Y₂O₃. It is insoluble in water and alkalis, but soluble in acids. Yttrium oxide has a wide range of industrial applications, primarily in the manufacture of magnetic materials for microwave applications, optical glass, high-brightness phosphors, ceramic additives, and as a raw material for other composite oxides, such as those used in the atomic energy and laser industries.
